HARRIS COUNTY, TX — Former Klein High School athletic coordinator Nicholas “Nick” Codutti had his bond set at a combined $100,000 during an overnight court hearing. A Harris County hearing officer found probable cause on charges of indecency with a child by sexual contact and sexual performance by a child, and set bond at $50,000 for each charge.

Prosecutors requested $50,000 on each charge. Codutti’s attorney requested $7,500 on each, citing his lack of criminal history, ties to the Houston area and recent loss of employment. Both cases are assigned to the 184th District Court, presided over by Judge Thomas.

The hearing officer also issued a 91-day emergency protective order. Bond conditions prohibit Codutti from contacting the person named in the order or possessing a firearm. They also restrict his contact with children younger than 17, with an exception for his own children.

The charges stem from allegations involving a Tomball ISD student that began when the student was 16, according to court records. Klein ISD said the alleged conduct predates Codutti’s employment there. The district said he had been on administrative leave and away from students since May and was terminated after criminal charges were accepted
