KATY, TX — A woman who jumped from a moving vehicle early Sunday was taken to a local hospital, where she died of her injuries, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened around 2 a.m. near Saltgrass Trail Way and Katy Hockley Cutoff Road. The sheriff’s office said the vehicle may have struck the woman after she jumped.

The driver continued driving but later returned and was detained at the scene. The sheriff’s office said the driver will be charged with driving while intoxicated.
