HOUSTON, Texas, Aug. 11, 2023 – Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 57-year-old man, identified as Troy Harris, at 9420 Cullen Boulevard, which occurred about 11:05 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11.
HPD Homicide Division detectives reported that HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call in a parking lot of a shopping center at the specified address. Upon arrival, officers found Mr. Harris suffering from a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Witnesses stated that Mr. Harris had witnessed an unidentified male suspect assaulting a man in a wheelchair. The suspect initially left the scene, but Harris confronted him and walked back to the location of the assault with the suspect. A verbal argument between the two men ensued, and the suspect produced a firearm, shooting the victim. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.
