HARRIS COUNTY – A fatal accident occurred on Jan. 13, 2024, at approximately 9:50 p.m. on 2500 W Mt Houston Road in Houston. The incident involved a pedestrian who was crossing the road outside of a designated crosswalk in an area lacking artificial lighting. The event was captured on a video camera operated by a Precinct One constable, showing the pedestrian crossing the roadway.
The pedestrian was hit by a black truck traveling eastbound, leading to the individual being propelled about 150 feet from the point of impact, resulting in a fatal injury. Subsequent checks on the driver and passenger of the truck for signs of intoxication yielded negative results. Both individuals remained at the scene following the accident.
