HOUSTON – Jan. 27, 2024 – A fatal shooting occurred at the Zip In Zip Out Chevron Gas Station on Ella Blvd. in Houston early this morning following an armed robbery incident.
According to police, the incident unfolded around 12:37 a.m. when a young adult male, identified as the robbery suspect, pistol-whipped a man at the gas station and demanded his wallet. The suspect was then shot in the upper extremities by a bystander who witnessed the robbery as the robber was fleeing. The bystander, not associated with either the suspect or the victims, left the scene after the incident.
The suspect was taken to the hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced deceased. The man and his partner, involved in the robbery, are cooperating with the authorities.
Law enforcement officials are now attempting to locate the individual who shot the robbery suspect.
