HOUSTON – Charges have been filed against Shaymone Fonteneaux, 31, in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, at an apartment complex located at 12800 Dunlap Street. Fonteneaux faces charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 180th State District Court.
Houston Police Department (HPD) Homicide Division reported that patrol officers, responding to a 9-1-1 call, discovered a 55-year-old man receiving medical treatment from Houston Fire Department paramedics for a gunshot wound. The victim recounted that upon hearing a gunshot in his living room, he encountered his roommate unresponsive on the floor and a female suspect, later identified as Fonteneaux, standing over him with a pistol. In an attempt to flee, the victim was shot as he escaped through a second-floor window.
The deceased victim, a 37-year-old man, remains unidentified pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Following the incident, deputies from the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office located and detained Fonteneaux. The surviving victim positively identified her as the assailant. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has since filed charges against Fonteneaux, who has been booked into the Harris County Jail.
