HOUSTON, TX – A red light runner caused a fatal crash at the intersection of Eastex Freeway and Tidwell last night.

The accident happened around 8:30 p.m.

Police say a driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee failed to stop at a red light, struck a Toyota RAV 4 and killed the driver while headed northbound along the Eastex Freeway. He was found to be intoxicated and was detained at the scene.

A second intoxicated driver who had nothing to do with the accident, drove around the police barricade and was also detained during the investigation.
