Police are looking for man wanted for shooting two other men

HOUSTON, July 23, 2024 – According to the Houston Police Department, charges have been filed against Charles Dee Strain III, 35, in connection with the shooting of two men at 2000 Oakdale Street on March 24 at approximately 2:55 a.m. Strain is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 482nd State District Court.

The victims, males aged 37 and 32, were found by HPD patrol officers near State Highway 288 and North MacGregor Way, both with gunshot wounds. They reported being shot at the intersection of Oakdale Street and Almeda Road. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported them to a hospital in stable condition.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the men were shot while stopped at a stop sign, and the suspect fled on foot. Further investigation, along with witness statements and evidence, identified Strain as the shooter, and Harris County District Attorney’s Office subsequently charged him. However, Strain remains at large and police are looking for him.
