Male Leads Deputies on Foot Pursuit, Found to Have Open Warrant with Bexar County

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – According to Harris County Constable Precinct 8, at approximately 3:07 PM, deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at an apartment complex in the 4300 block of S Shaver. A witness reported a male, appearing to be on drugs, in a vacant apartment. As deputies approached, the suspect ran through the apartment and jumped out of a window. Deputies pursued and used a Taser to subdue him.

The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Antonio Proenza Perez, had an open warrant through Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. A search of Perez’s belongings revealed a BB gun, a crowbar, and 10.5 grams of methamphetamine. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted additional charges for Evading Arrest/Detention and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Perez was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where his bonds were set at $5,100 total.
