Person of interest in Webster shooting found dead with self-inflicted gunshot wound

GALVESTON COUNTY, TX – Last night, a woman was found deceased in a parking lot after being shot several times. A man who police say was a person of interest in the woman’s death was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound earlier today.

According to the Webster Police Department, the original shooting took place in the 20800 block of the Gulf Freeway around 11:40 p.m. When police arrived, they found a 35-year-old woman with several gunshot wounds. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

During the initial investigation, police developed a person of interest. Negotiators were on the phone with him for several hours trying to come to a peaceful conclusion but he was found in the 4000 block of Beatrice Street in Dickinson, TX around 5:30 p.m. today with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police say the investigation is still very active and will release more information when appropriate. The Webster Police Department also thanked Dickinson, League City, Pearland, and Alvin Police Department, as well as the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.
