A man in his mid-30s was pronounced deceased after being shot multiple times while sitting in a vehicle at an intersection in northeast Houston.

The shooting occurred around 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of Laura Koppe and Hirsch.

According to police, a possible SUV pulled up, and an individual exited the vehicle with a rifle and fired numerous shots into the car. The victim was struck multiple times throughout his body.

Houston Fire Department personnel arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later died.

Police said there are no strong witness accounts at this time. Evidence was recovered at the scene, and investigators are working to locate surveillance footage.

The Houston Police Department Homicide Division is investigating.
