Deputy shot in abdomen after drive-by shooting at north Houston home

HOUSTON, TX – A deputy was shot in the abdomen during a drive-by shooting at a home in north Houston earlier this morning.

The shooting occurred around 1:06 a.m. in the 200 block of Burress.

According to police, North Patrol officers were dispatched to a drive-by shooting and arrived to find one victim inside the home, lying in his bed.

No suspect description or vehicle description is available at this time. Officers are canvassing the area for video surveillance and witnesses.

No motive has been determined at this time, and it is unknown if the shooting was targeted. Family members, including children, were inside the home at the time of the shooting.
