HOUSTON, TX — The I-610 North Loop was shut down in both directions for several hours Tuesday night after an overturned truck spilled gravel onto the freeway.

The crash occurred at the Interstate 69 Eastex Freeway interchange shortly before 7 p.m.

Police said the truck overturned on an elevated exit ramp, causing its load to fall onto the freeway below. Minor injuries were reported.

The freeway has since reopened. It remains unclear what caused the truck to overturn.
