HOUSTON, TX – A man was shot after a suspect allegedly opened fire on a restaurant near Beechnut Street and Corporate Drive last night.

Police said the suspect and his nephew became intoxicated inside the restaurant. Security personnel and the restaurant owner asked the suspect to leave.

The suspect allegedly returned to his vehicle, retrieved a firearm and began shooting at the business. A man in his 30s who was standing outside with a witness was struck in the torso and leg.

The victim was not believed to have been targeted. He was transported to a hospital is expected to be okay.

The suspect is believed to be a man in his 50s. Police have identified him, but no one is in custody.
