LAKE CHARLES, LA – Dr. Matthews has released an exclusive interview with John and Shunte King, who alleged misconduct by Lake Charles City Court Judge Ron Richard.
The couple said their case began after John King’s vehicle was transferred without his permission while he was working out of state.
They alleged Richard denied requests for medical accommodations and required King to appear in person despite restrictions on air travel.
Shunte King said her husband had a medical emergency at the courthouse. She said she called 911 for help and later faced contempt proceedings over the call.
The couple said an appeals court reversed certain actions Richard took after their appeal was granted. They also said they filed a federal civil rights lawsuit alleging retaliation and due process violations.
