(LA PORTE, TX) – Crews responded to the 11400 block of Bay Area to the Air Liquide Gas Plant Sunday afternoon after a transformer reportedly caught on fire.
According to La Porte Emergency Management, the fire was mostly out at 6:40 p.m. but crews will remain on scene to suppress any hot spots.
La Porte Emergency Management also noted an increased amount of flaring from other facilities due to a power outage in the area as a precaution.
Harris County Pollution Control is also on scene monitoring the air to make sure there are no impacts to air quality.
