ASP investigates death of Star City woman

STAR CITY, Ark. — At the request of the Star City Police Department, the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the death of Ann Ward, 79, of Star City. On June 25, 2025, Ward sought treatment for injuries at a health clinic in Star City. She was transferred to Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, where doctors determined her injuries were life-threatening. Ward was transported by med-flight to UAMS in Little Rock, where she died from her injuries on July 10, 2025.

Chicot County House Fire That Killed 1-Year-Old now under investigation

EUDORA, Ark. - The Chicot County Sheriff’s Office has requested the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) to investigate a house fire that resulted in the death of a 1-year-old boy. The fire took place yesterday, Thursday, October 24, 2024, around 7:30 a.m. in the 900 block of North Pine Street. A neighbor reportedly saved a 6-year-old child by removing him from the home before firefighters arrived. Firefighters later located the deceased child inside after extinguishing the fire. The child’s body has been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for examination. ASP’s Fire and Explosive section will conduct a full investigation into the fire’s origin and cause.

LAKE VILLAGE, AR - Three years ago, Moria Kinsey, a nurse was killed while traveling with her boyfriend and former physician Tyler Tait, who was later charged and found guilty of second-degree murder. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison. https://youtu.be/V9CAzpAeS7o According to court documents, on October 11, 2021, both Tait and Kinsey were spotted on surveillance video leaving Rick's Express around 12:27 p.m. At 1:12 p.m., the sheriff's office received a 911 call from Tait stating that his girlfriend was having a seizure and needed an ambulance on Highway 65 North about two miles north of Lake Village near the McMillan Corner Community. Kinsey was found unresponsive and was transported to Chicot Memorial Hospital. An investigator was also called out to the scene. When t...
