The incident occurred at approximately 9:54 a.m. on October 17, 2025. According to the Petaluma Police Department, officers responded after receiving an emergency call from the SMART Train Dispatch Center regarding the collision. PALO ALTO, CA – Police are investigating a fatal vehicle collision that resulted in the death of an elderly bicyclist who was struck earlier this month along the Foothill Expressway. The incident occurred on October 4, 2025, at approximately 12:18 p.m. in the 3400 block of Foothill Expressway. According to police, the cyclist, a man in his eighties, was traveling southbound in the bicycle lane when he entered into the lanes of vehicular traffic and was struck by a 2022 Mercedes Benz sedan. COSTA MESA, CA – The Costa Mesa Police Department has arrested a man on suspicion of homicide after a woman was found unresponsive and bleeding in a motel room on South Coast Drive. According to police, officers and Costa Mesa Fire & Rescue responded around 6 a.m. on October 13 to the 1500 block of South Coast Drive. They located a 32-year-old woman, identified as Yu Wang of Laguna Niguel, who was transported to a hospital and later pronounced deceased.
