Man shot after firing at Omaha police during alleged break-in
OMAHA, NE – The Omaha Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred during an early morning response to a reported break-in at a residence near North 152nd and Spencer Streets.
The incident began around 1:50 a.m. on October 16, 2025, when officers responded to a 911 call about someone attempting to enter a home. The department’s ABLE1 helicopter arrived before ground units and observed a man trying to break in through the back door. Officers arriving on scene met the homeowner outside while the suspect entered the home by firing multiple rounds through the back patio glass door using a handgun.
