MAGNOLIA, TX – November 6, 2024 – Following a comprehensive five-month national search that drew over 63 applicants from 12 states, the Magnolia Fire Department has announced the appointment of Terry Colburn as its new Fire Chief, effective December 2, 2024.
Chief Colburn, a 28-year veteran who began his career as a Firefighter Paramedic with the Houston Fire Department, brings extensive leadership experience to Magnolia. Throughout his career, he has earned recognition as a respected figure in the fire service and is actively involved with the Texas Fire Chiefs Association and the International Association of Fire Chiefs. Additionally, Chief Colburn is a certified Fire Instructor and has taught numerous fire safety and leadership courses.
A longtime Magnolia resident, Chief Colburn has lived in the community for over 45 years, raising three children with his wife of 32 years. The Magnolia Fire Department anticipates that Chief Colburn’s leadership will support the department’s growth in line with the community’s needs.
The department also congratulated outgoing Chief Jeffery Hevey, who retires after a distinguished 50-year career in the fire service.
