One killed in motorcycle accident on Katy Freeway in west Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A motorcyclist was killed during a crash on the Katy Freeway in west Harris County, according to Constable Terry Allbritton’s Office.

Deputies responded to the scene where three motorcycles were traveling westbound in the diamond lanes of the Katy Freeway near Greenhouse Road. Preliminary reports indicate that two of the motorcycles lost control, causing one of the drivers to fall into the general-purpose lanes of the freeway. The rider was then struck by another vehicle.

One motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another rider was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. The third motorcyclist remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Authorities stated that one of the vehicles that struck the deceased rider left the scene without providing information or rendering aid.
