Short pursuit ends in crash on Huffmeister; Life Flight called to the scene

HOUSTON, TX – A short pursuit ended in a crash early this morning in the 14600 block of Huffmeister Road, causing both sides of the roadway to be shut down. The pursuit came to an end after the suspect crashed his vehicle in to a wooded area next to an apartment complex. Life Flight was also called to the scene, though Pct. 4 has not yet specified who was transported. HOUSTON, TX – A house fire in the 3800 block of Lila Street claimed the life of one civilian and left another injured earlier this morning. The Houston Fire Department responded to the fire at approximately 1:41 a.m. The injured individual was transported for medical treatment, but their condition is unknown at this time. Man shot through apartment door on Wirt Road; suspect in custody

HOUSTON, TX – A man in his mid-30s was shot once in the leg during an incident at an apartment complex in the 1800 block of Wirt Road around 9 p.m. According to initial information, the suspect arrived at the apartment complex looking for an individual he knows through cutting hair. The resident, who lives with a roommate, answered the door, at which point the suspect displayed a weapon. The victim panicked and shut the door, prompting the suspect to fire three shots through it, striking the victim once in the leg. The victim's injuries are non-life-threatening, and he was transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Pedestrian fatally struck on North Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A pedestrian was struck and killed on the North Freeway Thursday evening. The accident occurred around 8:32 p.m. in Lane 1 of the 3400 block of the freeway. Houston Police officers responded to reports of a pedestrian being struck and found an adult male who had been hit by a vehicle. According to police, the striking vehicle exited the freeway, contacted emergency services, and later returned to the scene. The pedestrian was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. It remains unclear why the pedestrian was on the freeway. No charges have been filed at this time. Man shot on Wightman Court

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – Deputies investigated a shooting in the 5100 block of Wightman Court where a male victim sustained a gunshot wound Thursday evening. According to Constable Mark Herman, Pct. 4, the victim was transported to a local hospital by EMS. His condition was not immediately known.
