HOUSTON, TX – The fatal shooting of a man at the OYO Hotel located at 14833 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) that occurred around 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, will be presented to a Harris County grand jury for review.
The deceased male, 37, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
According to Houston Police Department Homicide Division investigators, the 23-year-old male shooter was not injured. He fled the scene but later turned himself in to the Sugar Land Police Department.
After consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, it was determined that the case would be reviewed by a grand jury.
The investigation is ongoing.
