Lawsuit filed over vicious Sabine County dog attack

NACOGDOCHES, TX – A civil lawsuit was filed this morning in Sabine County on behalf of a family following a violent dog attack earlier this month.

According to the filing, the family’s 10-year-old son was attacked on August 13, 2025, when three of their neighbors’ dogs trespassed into the family’s backyard and mauled him without provocation.

The boy has undergone five surgeries and received more than 500 stitches as a result of the attack. The lawsuit states that the dogs were unvaccinated, aggressive, and allowed to roam the neighborhood without restraint.

The child remains hospitalized at Texas Children’s Hospital. The law firm representing the family said they intend to hold the dog owners accountable for negligence and disregard for safety.

The firm, located in Nacogdoches, represents clients in criminal defense, employment, and personal injury cases across Deep East Texas.
