18-year-old arrested for double shooting on South Harrison Street in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE – An 18-year-old has been arrested in connection with a double shooting that occurred on September 1 in the 200 block of South Harrison Street.

According to Wilmington Police, officers responded to the scene at approximately 11:59 a.m. and located two male victims—one 24 years old and the other 18—both suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Detective Joran Merced of the Criminal Investigations Division led the case and identified Edward Jones, 18, as the suspect. Jones was taken into custody without incident on September 13.

He has been charged with:

  • Two counts of Attempted Murder (First Degree)
  • Two counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Two counts of Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
  • Two counts of Discharging a Firearm on a City Street

Jones was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $780,002 cash-only bail.
