NEW ORLEANS, LA – New Orleans Police are investigating a homicide after a man was found shot in the 2400 block of Mexico Street around 9:45 a.m. on September 16, 2025.
Responding officers from the NOPD’s Third District located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported by New Orleans EMS to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Investigators determined the actual shooting occurred in the 6300 block of Arts Street. The victim fled from that location before collapsing on Mexico Street.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim’s identity after notifying next of kin.
