Woman killed in Georgetown crash after truck fails to yield at Redden Road

GEORGETOWN, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Monday afternoon involving a Nissan Altima and a Mack Anthem truck pulling an empty grain trailer.

The incident happened on September 15, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Dupont Boulevard (US 113) at the intersection with Redden Road. According to investigators, the Mack truck was stopped northbound on Dupont Boulevard, attempting to turn left onto Redden Road through a yield-controlled crossover.

The truck failed to yield the right of way and turned into the southbound lanes, where it was struck on the right side of its trailer by a Nissan Altima traveling south.

The driver of the Nissan, a 49-year-old woman from the Bronx, New York, was wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.

The driver of the Mack truck, a 76-year-old man from Cambridge, Maryland, was also wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

The roadway was closed for approximately three and a half hours as the Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated and cleared the scene.
