MARSHALL, AR – Stephen Phillip Treat, 67, was sentenced to nine life sentences on September 24, 2025, after a Searcy County jury found him guilty of nine counts of rape and other related offenses.
The charges stemmed from an investigation launched in July 2023 after a woman reported to the Searcy County Sheriff’s Office that Treat had raped her repeatedly between 2012 and 2022, beginning when she was a minor. The Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division.
Treat was arrested on July 18, 2023. Following a two-year legal process, he was convicted and sentenced to life in the Arkansas Department of Corrections on each of the nine rape counts.
