FORREST CITY, AR – Dr. Sudesh Banaji, 61, of Forrest City, was convicted on September 29, 2025, of six counts of Second-Degree Sexual Assault following a jury trial in St. Francis County Circuit Court.
The conviction stems from multiple incidents involving sexual assaults of female patients during medical examinations at Banaji’s clinic in Forrest City. He was sentenced to six years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections and ordered to pay $90,000 in fines.
According to the Arkansas State Police, the investigation began in August 2023 when the First Judicial District Prosecutor’s Office requested assistance from the Criminal Investigation Division (CID). Special Agents with ASP CID arrested Banaji on August 26, 2024, following their investigation.
