ANCHORAGE, AK – A man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday morning at a business located at 3500 C Street.
Anchorage Police responded to the scene around 10:20 a.m. on October 15, 2025, after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male with a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by medics from the Anchorage Fire Department.
The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Joshua Gibbs, was taken into custody and transported to APD Headquarters for questioning. Detectives later charged Gibbs with second-degree murder, felon in possession, and third-degree assault. He was remanded to the Anchorage Correctional Complex.
The motive for the shooting and the relationship between the involved parties remain under investigation. The business and parking lot were closed while crime scene investigators processed the area.
