The program seeks startups with carbon mineralization solutions capable of decarbonizing the built environment. Selected companies will work alongside Amazon’s sustainability experts and GCI researchers to validate technical pathways, test performance under construction conditions, and develop commercial-scale models. Additional support includes Greentown’s venture-focused programming, mentorship, and networking opportunities.

Go Build 2026 is open to startups with a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 4 or higher. Participants will receive desk space, a need-based stipend, and access to Greentown’s incubators in Somerville, Massachusetts, and Houston, Texas. Applications are due by Jan. 9, 2026.

The collaboration supports Amazon’s goal of reaching net-zero carbon operations by 2040, with a focus on low-carbon building materials and technologies. The program is also backed by Amazon’s $2 billion Climate Pledge Fund.

Greentown Labs is the world’s largest climatetech and energy startup incubator, supporting over 200 companies. GCI, based at the University of Michigan, provides research and technical analysis to scale CO₂ management technologies
