VICTORVILLE, CA – A 43-year-old man from Apple Valley died Wednesday morning after suffering a medical emergency that led to a crash in Victorville.
According to the Victorville Police Department, the collision occurred around 7:47 a.m. near Monte Vista Road and Luna Road. Deputies determined that the driver, identified as Michael Hernandez Gonzales, had just delivered a load of dirt to a local construction zone when he suffered a medical emergency while driving onto the roadway.
Gonzales lost control of the truck-tractor, striking a parked vehicle before veering across the road and coming to rest on the dirt shoulder of Monte Vista Road. He was unresponsive at the scene and transported to a nearby trauma center, where he was pronounced deceased.
Deputies with the Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team responded and assumed the investigation. Monte Vista Road between Bear Valley Road and Luna Road was closed for several hours during the investigation.
