YUCCA VALLEY, CA – An 81-year-old woman in an electric wheelchair was struck and killed by a vehicle at the intersection of Yucca Trail and Frontera Avenue Thursday evening.
The collision occurred around 5:50 p.m. on November 6, 2025. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, a 2019 Ford Escape was traveling eastbound on Yucca Trail when it struck the woman as she attempted to cross Frontera Avenue southbound in her wheelchair. The impact pushed her approximately 15 feet east of the intersection.
Paramedics responded and pronounced the woman deceased at the scene. The driver of the Ford Escape remained on site and is cooperating with the investigation.
Deputies from the department’s Morongo Basin Station Major Accident Investigation Team and the Sheriff’s Coroner Division responded to investigate. Public Works assisted by setting hard closures on Yucca Trail during the investigation.
