SOUTH HOUSTON, TX – A fire at an abandoned apartment building spread to a second occupied building, affecting multiple families early this morning.
The fire was reported around 1:45 a.m. at 1100 Avenue N in South Houston.
According to a South Houston Fire Department chief, the fire began in an abandoned apartment building and extended to another building behind it. Multiple families were affected in the second building, though an exact number was not available.
No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported. The fire was described as self-ventilating, and the cause remains unknown.
The Houston Fire Department provided mutual aid.
