HPD: High water may have been factor in fatal crash on East Orem

HOUSTON, TX – A man was killed after a single-vehicle crash in southeast Houston last night.

The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the 6300 block of East Orem Drive.

According to the Houston Police Department, the crash involved a silver Nissan Rogue SUV driven by a 30-year-old black male. A separate driver stopped at the scene and called for medical services but did not render aid.

Investigators believe high water may have been a factor, as a puddle was present just before the crash site, and a witness stated they saw the vehicle hit the water and then the curb while traveling westbound on East Orem Drive but did not see whether it spun out.

Houston Fire Department personnel arrived, rendered aid, and pronounced him deceased at the scene. The driver remained inside the vehicle, and no other passengers were observed.

Skip the noise, get the facts that matter.
