HOUSTON, TX – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash near Bush Intercontinental Airport earlier this morning.

The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. in the 6500 block of Will Clayton Parkway near IAH. Bush Airport patrol initially responded to a call for a traffic hazard involving a pedestrian in the roadway.
Upon arrival, officers determined it was a major crash involving an auto versus pedestrian. The incident was later classified as a failed to stop and render aid.
According to police, two vehicles and one pedestrian were involved. A witness described the initial striking vehicle as a white vehicle that struck the pedestrian and fled the scene.
A second vehicle then struck and rolled over the pedestrian. The driver, who did not initially realize what was hit, returned to the scene, discovered it was a person, activated hazard lights, and waited for police.
The second driver, identified as a Black female in her mid-20s driving a white Jeep, showed no signs of intoxication.
The pedestrian, described as a white or Hispanic female of unknown age and unknown identification, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Houston Fire Department.
The investigation is ongoing.
