Woman accused of stabbing cousin during family disturbance in southeast Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A man was stabbed during a family disturbance at a home in southeast Houston.

The stabbing occurred around 9:45 p.m. in the 6900 block of Flamingo Drive.

According to the Houston Police Department, Southeast Patrol officers initially responded to a family disturbance call around 8 p.m. Officers arrived and determined no criminal actions had occurred at that time, so the involved parties were separated while police remained on scene.

Police said another disturbance later occurred, and the female suspect ran out of the home screaming while the male victim also ran outside. During the disturbance, the female suspect allegedly stabbed the male victim in the back.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

The suspect, a woman in her 30s, was detained at the scene. Charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon were accepted against her.

Police said the suspect and victim are believed to be cousins.
