HOUSTON, TX – A man was shot during an attempted carjacking just after midnight at the Boca Springs Apartments, located in the 3700 block of South Gessner Road.
Officers arrived and found the man with a gunshot wound to the leg. They applied a tourniquet before he was transported to a nearby hospital. He is currently in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the man lives at the apartment complex. Around three suspects approached him and attempted to carjack him, resulting in an exchange of gunfire. The victim was struck once. It is unknown if any suspects were injured.
No suspects are in custody, though investigators have a brief description. The Houston Police Robbery Division is leading the investigation.
During the exchange of gunfire, stray rounds entered an occupied upstairs unit. No one inside was injured.
