Woman shot while walking to friend’s residence during possible robbery dies at hospital

HOUSTON, TX – A woman was shot while walking to a friend’s residence during a possible robbery in the Heights area of Houston.

The shooting occurred around 11:45 p.m. in the 500 block of West 20th Street at Lawrence, in front of the Foundry on 19th apartment complex.

Officers responded to a shooting call and found an adult female lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. Officers rendered aid at the scene before the female was transported to a local hospital.

The female was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

According to police, the victim had parked her vehicle and was walking to a friend’s residence prior to the shooting. The shooting possibly occurred during a robbery while she was walking on the street.
