HOUSTON, TX – A driver was ejected during a crash along the South Loop East and later died from his injuries.
The crash occurred around 11:45 p.m. in the 4700 block of the South Loop East in Houston.
A single vehicle traveling outbound on the 610 Freeway lost control for an unknown reason, struck the center concrete wall, left the freeway, and then struck a tree.
The vehicle was wrapped around the tree and the driver was ejected during the crash.
The driver, believed to be in his late 30s, was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Only one vehicle and one occupant were involved in the crash. It is unknown if the driver was impaired at the time of the crash.
