HOUSTON, TX – A fire damaged the Sol Billares nightclub on Bellaire Boulevard in southwest Houston just before 4 a.m.
The fire occurred at 5920 Bellaire Boulevard. According to the Houston Fire Department, Engine 51 and Ladder 51 arrived to find the nightclub filled with heavy smoke down to the floor. Crews initiated a fast interior attack, located the fire in the lounge area, and extinguished it.
Firefighters conducted a primary search and confirmed the building was empty, with no injuries reported. The fire extended into a common area above the lounge due to the open layout and suspended ceiling.
Approximately 30 to 40 personnel responded, including multiple engine and ladder companies, along with support units. Crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring businesses, though a nearby restaurant experienced minor smoke.
The nightclub is expected to remain closed as the investigation continues which remains under investigation by HFD Arson.
