Man found shot to death at Beacon Hill Apartments in southwest Houston

HOUSTON, TX – Houston Police Department homicide detectives are investigating after a man was found shot to death at Beacon Hill Apartments in southwest Houston.

According to police, officers responded to the 8100 block of Creekbend at Beacon Hill Apartments and found a male suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the torso. He was pronounced deceased at the scene outside the apartment complex.

Police said the victim appeared to possibly be in his 20s, but investigators were still working to confirm his identity.

Investigators located blood trails in the area and are working to determine exactly where the shooting occurred and what led up to it. Police said they are reviewing possible surveillance video and speaking with witnesses who reported hearing noises and seeing movement around the time of the shooting.

At this time, police said it is unknown whether the shooting was related to a robbery or whether the victim knew the suspect.

According to police, the call initially came in after a person found the victim lying outside the apartments and contacted authorities without knowing he had been shot.

The investigation is ongoing.
