Woman accused of chasing multiple people, including 7-year-old, before stabbing married couple in southeast Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A woman accused of chasing multiple people with a knife was taken into custody after two people were stabbed at an apartment complex in southeast Houston.

According to police, the incident began around 9 p.m. near a convenience store in the 8600 block of Broadway. Investigators said the suspect, described as a woman appearing to be in her 40s, allegedly chased a man with a knife before he escaped.

Police said the suspect then made her way toward a nearby apartment complex, where she allegedly threatened a woman and her 7-year-old child, telling them she would stab them if they did not run. The woman and child were able to make it inside an apartment safely.

Investigators said the suspect later encountered four people at the apartment complex. Two people escaped without injury, but a 69-year-old man and his 42-year-old wife were stabbed.

According to police, the man was stabbed twice in the stomach and once in the back, while the woman was stabbed three times in the stomach. Both victims were able to get upstairs into an apartment, where family members called for help.

Police said the suspect was taken into custody at the scene. Investigators are working with the district attorney’s office on possible charges and are also trying to determine the suspect’s mental condition after she reportedly told officers she was on seizure medication.
