Police reported they have a possible suspect detained, a 22-year-old relative who was possibly playing with a gun, but it is too early in the investigation to determine if the shooting was accidental or not.

A family is suing an apartment complex after they say the apartment complex should be held accountable for failing to take basic security measures. This failure led to the death of a father and a five-year-old being shot multiple times. Haven-at-WestgreenDownload According to the lawsuit, which was filed by family members, the shooting occurred just outside of their apartment’s front door on January 29, 2021, around 3:30 p.m. as they were returning home after picking up the five-year-old from school. An unknown person shot the father, Elmer Cathey multiple times, then shot the five-year-old three times. Shane McKinney was a 45-year-old cyclist, and father, who was killed last week when a motorist struck him after he fell into a lane that had oncoming traffic. Shane was honored with a 'Ghost Bike' memorial on Sunday. Ghost bikes are roadside memorials that are placed nearby where a cyclist was killed. Pride Bike Ride Houston organized the placement of Shane's memorial with Houston Ghost Bike. A GoFundMe has also been created as a Trust Fund for Shane's 2-year-old son, Miles, which has almost met its goal of $30k as the cycling community rallies together. A Harris County man is asking for at least $200,000 after he claims that the popular fast food franchise, Whataburger gave him food poisoning. According to initial court documents filed on behalf of Robert Catano by his attorney, Vu Nguyen of Nguyen and Associates, the Catano ate lunch at a Whataburger in west Houston, located at 2429 Gessner Rd., back in October of 2020. Shortly after eating his lunch, the man says he started to feel sharp pains in his stomach. He then went to Memorial Herman Hospital to receive treatment. Doctors at Memorial Herman Hospital then referred him to a specialist and he was then treated by multiple medical providers for his "foodborne illness" according to the court documents. October 14, 2022 - A man was spotted being placed into the back of a Precinct 4 Harris County Constable's vehicle in handcuffs. This incident took place as the school was getting out for the day at an elementary school on Woodland Hills Dr. in Humble, Texas around 3:30 p.m. According to the Humble ISD, police were called to the school after the man came and walked on campus. The man was placed into custody, (but not arrested) for his own safety since it was believed he was having mental health issues. Several staff members were seen surrounding the man and talking to officers.

A lawsuit has been filed against a Houston car dealer by a daughter whose mother was tragically killed when her car stalled out on I-45 and was subsequently rear-ended by a tractor-trailer. The lawsuit claims the dealership improperly installed the wrong car battery. According to court documents, Brenda Patterson (the mother) was in Dallas and decided to come down to Houston on December 26, 2018, to complete the purchase of the vehicle after her son-in-law helped negotiate a price on a Honda Accord on Gillman Honda's lot. Two people have been listed in critical condition after a gunfight broke out at a Houston area park. https://www.youtube.com/embed/RJMWh_unAhU According to Lt. J.P. Horelica of the Houston Police department, around 10:44 p.m., police were called out to a Chevron located at 1406 W Gulf Bank Rd in north Houston. Upon arrival, they found two male victims that appeared to have both been shot in the chest area. Paramedics arrived on the scene as well and transported both of the victims to nearby hospitals where they underwent surgery and are said to be in critical condition.
