Suspect charged in fatal shooting on South Drive

HOUSTON, TX – Charges have been filed against a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of a man found in the 11400 block of South Drive about 8:25 p.m. on May 4. The suspect, Jessy Saba, 41, is charged with murder in the 482nd State District Court. He was taken into custody by the Huntsville Police Department on August 12 and later booked into the Harris County Jail on August 19. The victim has been identified as Merlin Alberto, 27. According to the Houston Police Department Homicide Division, officers responded to the scene and found Alberto lying unresponsive on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound.
