WILMINGTON, DE – Wilmington Police have arrested a 16-year-old male in connection with the October 8 shooting that killed two teenage boys in the area of 6th and North Pine Streets. According to Wilmington Police, officers responded around 5:07 p.m. and found two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Sixteen-year-old Nathan Lopez of Newark was pronounced deceased at the scene. Seventeen-year-old Kaleb Blumberg, also of Newark, was transported to the hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries. The case was investigated by Detective Justin Wilkers of the Wilmington Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division. The shooting occurred around 2:36 p.m. in the unit block of Stroud Street. Officers responding to the scene located Scott suffering from gunshot wounds. MIDDLETOWN, DELAWARE — Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred early Friday morning on Summit Bridge Road. Around 7:19 a.m. on October 10, 2025, a Buick LaCrosse was traveling northbound near Old Summit Bridge Road when it left the east side of the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a telephone pole. The driver, a 27-year-old man from Middletown, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending family notification. TOWNSEND, DE — Delaware State Police arrested three 17-year-old male students from Townsend in connection with a robbery that took place inside an Odessa High School restroom on Wednesday, authorities said. According to the preliminary investigation, a Hyundai Sonata traveling northbound on West Robbins Road failed to remain stopped at the stop sign and entered the intersection around 3 p.m., striking a westbound Volkswagen Tiguan on Redden Road. BEAR, DE – Delaware State Police have arrested 46-year-old Omar Mendoza of New Castle in connection with a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Sunday morning on US Route 40 near Fir Avenue. The incident happened on September 28, 2025, around 10:00 a.m., when Mendoza, driving a Chevrolet Malibu eastbound, entered a crossover at Fir Avenue, failed to stop at a stop sign, and drove diagonally across the westbound lanes into oncoming traffic. The victim, identified as Lee Morr Harris, succumbed to his injuries on September 17.
