GREENWOOD, DE – Delaware State Police have arrested 19-year-old Jayden Waters of Delmar, Maryland, for DUI and vehicular assault charges following a head-on crash that seriously injured three people, including a 13-year-old, late Friday night. The crash occurred on September 26, 2025, at approximately 11:05 p.m. on Seashore Highway near Adamsville Road. According to investigators, Waters was driving a GMC pickup westbound when he attempted to pass two tractor-trailers. While doing so, he struck an oncoming Chevrolet Tahoe head-on. GREENWOOD, DE – Delaware State Police arrested 27-year-old Ivory Brown of Harrington following a single-vehicle crash that left five passengers injured, including a child, late Friday night. The crash occurred on September 26, 2025, at approximately 11:21 p.m. in the 6500 block of Hickman Road. According to troopers, Brown was driving a Ford Edge that veered off the roadway near Woodbridge Road, entered a ditch, and overturned multiple times. Two passengers, a 27-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman from Milford, were ejected from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. WILMINGTON, DE – Two 15-year-old male juveniles were arrested on gun and drug charges after Wilmington Police observed suspected drug activity in the 400 block of West 7th Street. According to police, the arrests took place around 12:56 p.m. on September 23, when members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division approached the two juveniles and took them into custody without incident. One of the juveniles was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun. He was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. NEW CASTLE, DE – Delaware State Police have arrested 35-year-old Taamir Smith in connection with a stabbing that occurred last month at an Amazon delivery center. According to investigators, troopers responded around 11:00 a.m. on August 28, 2025, to the Amazon facility located at 2421 Bear Corbitt Road for a reported stabbing. A 23-year-old man was found with multiple stab wounds. Troopers provided first aid until emergency medical services transported the victim to a local hospital with serious injuries. Detectives later identified Smith as the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant. DOVER, DE – A 33-year-old man from Dover is facing felony charges after allegedly shooting at another driver during a road rage incident on Korean War Veterans Memorial Highway. Delaware State Police say the incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. on September 23, 2025, on Route 1 northbound, just south of South Dupont Highway. Investigators said a 64-year-old man driving a GMC Yukon Denali was being followed too closely by a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Joseph Novak, near the Roth Bridge. Both vehicles were reportedly involved in aggressive driving before colliding. After the crash, Novak allegedly fired a handgun at the Denali. WILMINGTON, DE – A 21-year-old male pedestrian was killed following a vehicle collision on Northeast Boulevard late on September 18, 2025. According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers were dispatched around 9:20 p.m. to the 1100 block of Northeast Boulevard in reference to a crash involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers located the 21-year-old victim, who had succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 31-year-old Jose Ayala-Medina, was taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with Vehicular Homicide 2nd Degree, Driving Under the Influence (DUI), and other traffic-related offenses. WILMINGTON, DE – A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred on September 18, 2025. According to Wilmington Police, officers responded around 1:57 p.m. to the area of West 2nd and North DuPont Streets for a reported shooting. A 24-year-old male gunshot victim was later located and transported to the hospital in stable condition. While on scene, officers obtained a description of the suspect vehicle. A short time later, police located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The driver fled the area, but the vehicle was later recovered near Oak and South Broom Streets, where officers took Travon Norton, 24, into custody without further incident.
