KATY, Texas — A man was shot and killed after a fight broke out during a large gathering in the Katy area early Sunday morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Deputies were dispatched around 12:15 a.m. to the 24600 block of Sandal Springs in reference to a fight disturbance. While the caller was still on the line with 911, shots were reported outside the home where the party was taking place. When deputies arrived, they found an approximately 45-year-old Black male deceased at the scene. Investigators determined a large party was taking place at the residence when a fight broke out involving multiple individuals. HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A woman died after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross State Highway 249 earlier today near Old Bammel North Houston Road. According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office Vehicular Crimes Division, deputies were dispatched to an auto-pedestrian crash at approximately 10:32 p.m. Initial reports indicated a black passenger vehicle had struck a woman in the roadway and left the scene. However, authorities later learned the driver had returned to the location.
