Fire at concrete mixing facility leaves firefighter injured in northwest Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, TX - A firefighter was injured after a fire involving containers carrying tires and vehicles broke out overnight at a concrete mixing facility in northwest Harris County. https://youtu.be/YL0ffuD5T1Q According to the Northwest Volunteer Fire Department, crews responded to the facility on Veterans Memorial and found a large fire and requested tankers due to a lack of nearby hydrants. One firefighter sustained a burn injury, was treated at the scene, and released. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The male dropped the weapon and fled into a house, leading to a barricaded situation. The Houston Police Department’s Patrol Support Team set up containment while a warrant was being issued. Pedestrian struck and killed on Westheimer near Dairy Ashford

HOUSTON, TX – A pedestrian was struck and killed in the roadway shortly before 9 p.m. Monday night. https://youtu.be/QV7Ae0F_XfE The crash occurred in the 12800 block of Westheimer Road, just west of Dairy Ashford in west Houston. According to police, the individual was walking in the middle of the road when they were struck by a vehicle. The driver pulled over almost immediately into a nearby parking lot to figure out what happened. At that time, 911 was called. Police said there were no signs of intoxication and no indication the crash was intentional. Investigators are still working to verify the circumstances leading up to the pedestrian being in the roadway. No charges have been filed at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
