Salisbury Township man accused of Taser attack waives preliminary hearing

SALISBURY TOWNSHIP, PA – A Salisbury Township man accused of randomly assaulting a woman with a Taser in her home has waived his preliminary hearing, allowing the case to proceed to county court. Benjamin Andrew Brinker, 34, of the 700 block of Azalea Lane, waived the hearing before Judge Raymond Sheller on September 3. He faces felony charges including burglary, aggravated assault, and use of an incapacitation device. According to police, Brinker approached a residence in the 200 block of South Belmont Road in Paradise Township on August 19 and forced his way through a partially open door while brandishing a Taser. PHILADELPHIA – John Murray Rowe Jr., 67, of Lead, South Dakota, was sentenced to 126 months in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $25,000 fine for attempted espionage, U.S. Attorney David Metcalf announced alongside the Justice Department and the FBI. Rowe pleaded guilty in April 2024 to one count of attempted delivery of national defense information to a foreign government and three counts of willful communication of national defense information. The charges stem from a December 2021 indictment. Video footage from the Citizen app shows police taping off the bus stop as their investigation continues. According to initial reports, from the Citizen app, the incident began with a 911 call around 6:04 p.m. on Monday, alerting police and rescue to the scene.
