A family is suing an apartment complex after they say the apartment complex should be held accountable for failing to take basic security measures. This failure led to the death of a father and a five-year-old being shot multiple times.

According to the lawsuit, which was filed by family members, the shooting occurred just outside of their apartment’s front door on January 29, 2021, around 3:30 p.m. as they were returning home after picking up the five-year-old from school.
